Magnetic Silicone iPhone Case

A case usually asks you to give up one thing: either the phone gets bulky, or the magnets stop working, or the back becomes a slippery panel you drop more often than the bare phone. A liquid silicone shell with properly aligned magnets avoids all three, at roughly 0.2 cm of added thickness.

The surface is the reason to pick silicone over hard plastic. It is soft and velvety rather than glossy, which means it grips the hand and the pocket instead of sliding out of both, and it does not show every fingerprint. Underneath, a microfibre lining sits against the phone so the case itself never scuffs the back, and the raised edges absorb the impact of the everyday knocks and short drops that cause most damage.

The magnets are positioned to line up with MagSafe chargers, mounts and wallets, so wireless charging works through the case at full alignment rather than hunting for a sweet spot. It fits iPhone 12 series and newer. Wipe it with the supplied microfibre cloth when it picks up marks, and remove the case occasionally to clear dust from between the lining and the phone.

Material. The shell is moulded liquid silicone — soft and velvety to the touch rather than glossy, which is what gives it grip in the hand and in the pocket and keeps fingerprints from settling on the surface. The inside is lined with microfibre, so the material sitting against the phone is softer than the phone's own back and cannot scuff it. Both layers together account for roughly 0.2 cm of added thickness.
